about zinnia

I am currently available for remote healing sessions only.
My remote work is grounded in two decades of hands-on experience.

I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)* since 2001.
My hands-on work blends various techniques including Craniosacral, Neuromuscular Technique, Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Massage and Sports Massage. My practice also includes experience with injury evaluation & treatment, myofascial & neurofascial release, intraoral work, hydrotherapy, pregnancy massage and reiki.

I became a Certified Craniosacral Therapist (CCST) through the program
offered by Pat O'Rourke. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to share this gentle and extremely potent modality with my clients.

I received the foundation of my massage training from 2000-2001 at Brian Utting School of Massage (BUSM) in Seattle, Washington. I was also fortunate enough to be an instructor at BUSM for two years early on in my career as a massage therapist. Over the past decade, I've continued to teach on occasion — co-teaching or assisting with continuing education classes offered by Pacific Northwest School of Massage.

My background includes several years working at a medical massage clinic resulting in extensive experience with all sorts of injuries and health conditions (whiplash, concussions, vertigo, arthritis, headaches, tendinitis, insomnia, anxiety, and more). I have also worked in various other settings including the Sonnenalp Resort (Vail, Colorado), Seattle Tennis Club (Seattle, Washington) and Massage Therapy Center (Los Angeles, California).

Because of my personal experience with acting, music, and sports & dance,
I especially enjoy working with athletes & artists of all kinds.

Whether I am working with an elite athlete or someone who spends their days at a desk, with parents, teachers, or professional musicians, I bring the same level of intent and specificity to my work and I do my best to address the roots of the problems, not just the surface issues.

I believe strongly that relaxation and therapeutic massage are not mutually exclusive. Therapeutic massage need not mean intense pressure right at (let alone beyond) my client’s pain threshold. I can and will apply pressure as needed, and we will also cultivate a relaxed state for you. Many of my clients reach that deeply restorative state between sleep and full consciousness where they are so completely relaxed and somehow still aware enough to hear themselves breathing deeply (or even snoring) and many do fall asleep on the table! True relaxation is ultimately therapeutic and therapeutic work is the only way real, lasting relaxation and balance will be achieved.
